Saturdays...

Reading Martin Rattler can surely give one insights into a Scottish way of life, which is actually quite unlike the English Way (I am not referring to 'hanging on in quiet desperation', if that's what you're thinking). At least until Rattler gets lost in the Amazon Rain forest, that is...
Surprisingly, I actually understand phrases such as "He'll niver bate ye, Martin, avic, as long as there's two timbers of ye houldin' together", and"Troth an' besmearin' ye with too much honour that same".

Note: The book was given to me to read by NS... along with my tuba for the weekend! :)
I like the book, the physical aspect, I mean, It smells of the music room! :) (Not to be confused with the Band Room, where we keep the instruments. That place smells of horse manure, vomit and fungus...)
The Music Room smell reminds me of Music Competition Practice! And German! And a certain fussy person who I will not mention here...

Lately, I've been wondering: If I were to write an autobiography, it would resemble Roald Dahl's 'Boy' and 'Going Solo'... Granted, my life till date has been uneventful (relatively), but with the proper advertisement, it could have the potential to become a classic childhood.
I mean, think about it. You've all read my earlier post 'Nostalgia Beckons'!

And there's still more to come!!!

The E-flat Tuba and other things...

I finally realised why our tubas are so tiny (as far as tubas go, at least)! It's because they are E-flat Tubas, and all the ones I've seen on the Net are BB-flat! Much lower in note!
Anyway, I now know 'Abide With Me', and I'm learning 'Lead Kindly Light', now! I wonder if I can convince NS to let me take my Tuba home to practice... I heard it's a 'done' thing...I can get the hang of those darn high-C's!
The band is learning a new piece called 'Holiday March', which sounds gorgeous! The Band may have a hard time though! Anyone would, if you had a march switching between 6\8, 3\4 and 9\8 timing!!

Anyway, we have to decide on a charity, that is, we, the Interact Club. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, we need to start holding meetings during the lunch-break, so members must be informed! We need to decide things fast, because I need to have a speech prepared! I wish somebody who is actually in the club was following my blog... I need to publicise it!!
